I had nothing done at 6000 for the fact that I would have to pay for it. My
take is that if the head had a problem and it went down for significant
time, 30 days or greater, I may be able to use the lemon law here in CA. In
the worst case I would get my money back and in the best case I would finds
there really isn't a problem.
No more that the usual rock nicks, I had managed to squeeze between some
cars for some maneuvering space.
Thing to note on my new belly panels. The dealer used two forms of heat
shielding. The foil and a sponge like foam on top. I an effort to not
prove my theory of water and shielding pulling away I have washed Baby and
put her away wet. She dried as much as she could during the night and I
hope that will take care of the situation or at least prolong the
inevitable.
I am still looking for the weave type cloth that I have seen for heat
shielding. I honestly think the best way to deal with this deformation is
to simply ensure the heat doesn't make it to the panel through the use of a
semi-permanent/permanent coating that ensures the transmission of heat
elsewhere in the exhaust system.
There might be another possibility and that is to increase air flow in some
positive manner i.e. a fan continually blowing air through the fairing even
at zero speed. Some cutouts could be placed on the flat spot behind the
front wheel with a heavy screen and a fan running full time.
Enough.
Martin
that's good to hear - I will add it to the results. Did you
have anything
done at 6k?
ouch - any significant damage?
