Thanks, Eric! Didn't mean to fan any flames -- I don't recall this being
a hot topic around these parts. At least it's not as hot as what kind of
oil to use, or chain maintenance, or colors, or panniers! :-)

I just got back from the dealership; the bike is already assembled and
sitting in the center of the showroom floor, right in front of the front
doors. The blue is even better looking in person than in the pics on the
web site! It's almost -- dare I say it -- the same shade that Yamaha's
made famous with the R1/R6. It's maybe a tad darker. Simply stunning,
IMHO.

Now I'm twiddling my thumbs, waiting for the nice, nice people at the
bank to finish writing me a check...

BTW, there's a used '99 ST for sale at the dealership. It's red with the
two-box setup. Dunno what they're asking for it, but if anyone's
interested they can call Troy Connors at 703/471-6990 (this is Cycle
Sport in Reston, Virginia, USA).
