Re: Patrick's comments

Ross,

Perhaps this reply maybe should have been off list and to yourself but
heregoes.

Sentences in my post , if you reread it, were ended a couple of times with a
:)

:) is smiley face and is meant to be humouroous and taken with tongue in
cheek and not literally. I believe this is all part of the Internet type
jargon but I may be wrong.

My post has nothing to do with painting one off bikes or Hayabusas. Yes I
was disappointed about that episode, no it wasn't sour grapes and I am sad
that you appear to think it was.

As you have been monitoring the list you may have noticed that quite a few
of my posts are intended as being humourous , mostly one liner replies, and
are hopefully received as such.

In fact if you monitor the T5 list , I write a weekly humourous diary for
them [Copies available by request :) ]

To clear up any misunderstanding that I may have led you to believe I would
comment that I believe it was Charles Smart , I could be wrong on this one
though, assisted in some way, a couple of years ago when I wanted a half
litre of paint for one of my old Daytons that my wife [and we're still
married, only just :) ] scratched in garage.

I have always found my dealings with Triumph to be satisfactory and have
always been satisfied with the product. Thats why I still own 2 of them.
None of my Triumphs have had any major problems . Minor niggles, which can
occur with any mass produced produced product having been put right by the
dealer and those have been few.

Triumph build bikes that I personally like and they are British. The staff
that I have personaly met are quite dedicated people and think of the
product as not just a job but as the rebirth of the previous Triumphs fine
heritage, and long may that continue. I wouln't have spent around a very
large amount of money over the last 8 yrs or so buying so many of them if I
didn't like them.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding you had.

Regarding your comment about Factory participation on various mailing lists,
I for one am pleased that you and others take the time to join the lists. In
fact if you had been on the T5 list from the inception, it would have been
beneficial for the factory as some of the listers beta tesetd the product
and found all the glitches, of which there were a few you have to admit.
Thankfully they seem to have been rectified over the years.

Shall we now get back to the serious business of discussing fastest colours,
panniers, heated vests, WD40, tyres and broken keys ? :)

Regards

Patrick

PS: I saw a Hayabusa engine that had covered 1800 ,miles this week with all
its valve heads broken off and wrecked the engine. Just thought I'd chuck
that in to take your mind off broken gearboxes and burnt out harnesses :)
( tongue in cheek )
