RE: 2000 and Paint

The frame, and swing arm are powder coated. I guess they did this to
make it easier to clean and maintain. For a brushed aluminum swing arm
you have to use some type of degreaser to clean it when it has chain
lube on it. Grease has a tendency to smear into the metal when rubbed
on. Not to mention aluminum will oxidize somewhat when exposed to the
elements.

I second the idea of someone at Triumph providing some info on what's
been
updated for 2000. Even though most of it is little stuff like mirrors
and
colors, it is useful to someone like me who is considering 're-buying'
the
2000 model after owning a '99.

Also, someone commented on the RS' black painted frame, prefering the
'natural polished aluminum' of the ST. To me the ST's frame is painted
'aluminum color.' It doesn't look or feel like natural aluminum to me
nor
does it look like natural aluminum frames on other bikes like Hondas.
Which
makes me wonder, why don't they just use natural aluminum like other
bikes?
