When I took the MSF course in Ontario there where really big on
"staying in the Blocking Position". By staying on the same side of
the lane as traffic beside you, you are more likely to be seen in
their mirror and you do not give them a space for which to get
around the car ahead of them.

As well, never drive in the middle, as that is where the oil and
shite live, thus poor traction.
