Neil,
You don't have to remove anything. I installed my own hugger, and I found
that once you had the hugger in as far as it would go, the chain guard
section and the brake line were both flexible enough that I was able to
"bend" the chain guard slightly and push it past the brake line. As you can
tell, you only need few more centimeters for the hugger to slide in. Don't
be afraid to bend the plastic slightly.
