    My disappointment at learning of my failure to reach Total
Motorcyclisthood will soon fade, a natural proccess abetted by the
fact that I'm still faster than most of the mechanics who work on my
bikes.

    The frustration I will carry to my grave however, is realizing
that I'm not a total pilot either! After 50 years and over 25,000
hours of flying everything from Pitts Specials to 747s to gliders I
had deluded myself with a warm glow of totality now shown to be
bogus! 

    Oh well,... I suppose it's better than getting my hands dirty!
