Re: Fuel guage - sorted yet?



The gauge has never been a problem that I know of, but the sending unit has
been. There's been no mention of a recall, but if you have a problem with
yours, you can get it replaced for free under warranty.

As far as I can tell, 'original' fuel sender's never leaked, but many either
failed to work at all (eg. mine), or worked erratically.  Unfortunately a
fairly high number of replacement units have developed leaks (of course we
typically only hear about the problem units), and there was a suggestion
that the replacement units were possibly being damaged during installation.
I forewarned my dealer about the potential for damage, but mine developed a
leak with a week or so anyway.  Now I'm on my third unit and after several
months now, everything seems ok.
