Re: GAUGE/good fuel!!!

Yeah, Its kind of weird riding in groups where it seems that they fill up every 100 miles. I've noticed that too. "Getting fuel Man?" Nahhhh!!! Another point: To get better fuel at the "one nozzle fits all fuel grades" gas stations when riding with a group, be sure to pull in behind someone else filling "supreme", as they most probably got a hose full of "regular unleaded" before the good stuff came out. With the small capacity of a motorcycle tank, you really get ripped off when going to those kind of gas stations. I avoid them if possible, if not, hopefully a sportscar or another bike is filling with supreme and I pull behind them.

Man, it's been so long since I've been able to go through a full tank I
can't remember for sure! Part of the problem is that I usually ride with
a group of people, one of whom has a YZF-600, so we're always stopping
when I'm reading just 1/2 down. IIRC, though, at the half-way point on
the gauge I've put anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 gallons of gas in the tank.
(This is with the stock gauge on a Y2K bike. The gauge has only flaked
out on me once early on in my ownership.)
