Re: Both headlights

Hi Ludo
Fortunately about the one bit of my bike (touch wood) that has not had a problem so far is the battery. I had left it 2 months this time, and despite one broken spark plug it still started without even dimming the ignition lights. I have both lights working together since new, and it has never caused a problem. I think that as long as the charging system is ok and the battery relatively healthy (with well lubed connectors) then it wont cause a problem.
cheers
Jonathan
ps. it is very easy to just reach in and pull one connector so that it works with only one light on low beam if I am just doing short journey stuff for a few weeks.

Some time ago I asked the list how to get both headlights on my 99 ST to
work together.
Jonathan Schulster and some others gave the solution: ask your dealer and he
will put in a connector so they will work together.
My dealer ordered the part and said it would be no problem to install it.
Since the weather over here became bad I did not have the part installed yet
but was going to have it done next saturday.
Now I read that Tim has a flat battery due to the headlight connection ?
Has Jonathan had problems with his battery ? I know he has both headlights
working together.
Must I wait to have the connector put in or not ?
I had my ST all winter on a Optimate II tender and my battery is very OK.
I'd like to keep it this way :)
