I highly recommend the clear panel protectors if you go with soft luggage.
I placed my Chase Harpers on my ST just to se how they fit and scratched
the hell out of my panels with no effort at all. I'm sure it's partly due
to the fact that I have never cleaned them. Remember, It will only take one
grain of sand between your bags and paint to cause some serious damage.
