Re: Route 66 redo (Ride Texas)

There is a fellow that published a book entitled "Ride Texas", and you can get one from http://www.texmoto.com It shows a bunch of really good roads and alternate route suggestions between major cities in Texas. The book is primarily focused towards the Texas Hill Country (THC...for me!!!).... awesome rides!!! (for an entrapped Houstonian). The book also rates roads based on traction (there seems to be a bunch of "glassphault" and deer in the THC....be REAL careful at night), fun factor, etc... Its worth checking out...or at least taking a look at their site...which also publishes a newsletter.

Looks like I'm not going to be riding Route 66 after all, but instead will
be starting my week long ride from Houston TX on March 10th.

Anyone on the list have any route suggestions, preferably heading west
through TX, NM and AR?
