One thing to note, with all of the cool new materials on the bikes,
I would not want to put it through a washing when it is nice and
warm. A good soaking of cool water on hot parts could wind up doing
more damage than the salt would do. 

As well when grease/oil is warm it will tend to be displaced easier.
So if you have to wash a warm bike, try to keep the water away from
the chain and wheel/swing arm bearings. It used to make me sick
watching a couple of friends wash down their bikes after agressively
riding their bikes to a coin operated car wash.
