I am not sure - if I find out I will let the list know. I guess it would
depend on how many units show the fault. I believe that they will only be
replacing units that exhibit the problem.
As I understand it the official cause of the problem was the level sensor
catching on a resistor plate that was used to indicate the level in the
tank. In the manufacturing process, some of the boards has some small
imperfections which would catch the plates of the sensor. After a while the
sensor would become freed and move back to the normal position. On others
it would not move from empty. (that's what I remember - it may be
completely wrong).
In any event if you have a working fuel gauge now, it should continue to be
a working fuel gauge.
