I also drained the battery by "over" locking hte bike. I solved the
problem in the future with a buzzer and a couple of miniature relays.
Works great.

When you bump started the bike, what gear did you use? I have had the
rear wheel lock up when I was down shifting into first and the engine
died (happened twice , long ago, after prolonged downhill with no
throttle application) and I popped the clutch to try and restart. TIA.

ps: it actually turns on the parking lights (front AND rear) although
the Brits call them position lights.
