By push starting, you also spin the alternator, thus energizing the electrical system and the fuel pump!!  Unfortunately the government mandated "headlights on all of the time" will wick power.   Pick a long steep hill!!!!,  It may work...eventually ...in theory.

If the battery does not have enough juice to get the fuel pump up
to presume or open up the fuel jets, then no matter how much you
push, no light.
