Silver sulfadiazine cream, trade name Silvadene, and also some generic ones
available. A non-stinging, non-staining antibacterial cream used in burn
centers. Should be buttered onto sterile gauze pads, which are then applied
to the road rash and secured with a bandage, and changed once or twice a day.
The cream turns grey after being on for a while due to the photochemical
effect, like photographic emulsion. Needs a prescription in the US, probably
available over the counter, like everything else, and at a lower price, in
Mexico.
