FW: Pedal, Gear change, Assembly T2080373 (Change of heart by Triumph UK)

Seems like things change day to day. First they were going to fit it is
standard, now there not!

Back to a clunking shift.

Dave,

I regret to advise you that the information I gave you last week regarding
the ST gearchange was incorrect:- The Sprint ST will NOT be fitted with the
Daytona style gearchange.

Apologies for misinforming you.

Kind regards,

Dave,

The ST now features the same gearchange linkage as introduced on the Daytona
and Speed Triple last year. This part is retro-fitable and I will ask our
accessories department to confirm the part number and price. Please note
however that fitting this part to models bearing the earlier gearshift will
not be undertaken under warranty.

Kind regards,

Just a fairly brief question initially:

A recent posting on the Sprint ST mailing list suggested that there is or
may be a redesigned one piece gear shift assembly in production for the
Sprint ST, due to problems with the multi-part linkage currently in use. The
poster claimed that the new shift transformed the gear change!!

The Triumph Pt No quoted was - T2080373

Can you confirm this is so?

If so, is this going to be production fit on new machines? Is it available
as a retrofit for earlier production? I currently own a 2000 model ST. Will
it become a standard replacement? Will earlier shifts be replaced under
warranty? If not, what is the retail cost of the replacement likely to be
and when will it be available?

Regards

Had enough, gone out on the bike!!! (If I can get it into neutral)
