New to the list

Hi,
I've only been lurking for a little while and before this goes too far, I'd
better come clean and follow list etiquette. My name is Robert, and I live
in Northern California. I do not yet have a Sprint ST, but I do have a 98
Sprint Exec. Now I realize that the new Sprints are a whole new breed of
animal and I've joined the list because I figure I'll have to buy one soon.
What I've noticed so far on this list is that people aren't modifying the
hell out of their bikes, which I think is good. So far, I've installed new
pipes, a Factory jet kit, and a bigger windshield on my bike. I'd put a
Corbin on too (and maybe RaceTech gold valve emulators), but I'm giving my
wallet a rest. The only other bike I'd consider for my next purchase would
be the VFR800. I've ridden one from London to mid Wales and back and it was
one of the nicest bikes I've ever been on. So time will tell whether it is
the Sprint ST or the VFR that I end up purchasing because, hey, the ST has
soul. Right?

FWIW, my other bike is a 92 750 Virago. It's a great 2nd bike and I use it
constantly as a commuter. At the moment, I've pulled the carbs and am
rebuilding them. Never had the nerve too do that to my Sprint, yet.

Cheers,
Robert Marion
