Wish Triumph here in America were quite as courteous.  I had the same exact
thing happen to me, including the bike (Sprint ST) being down for three
weeks due to a split tank, and Triumph of America never bothered to respond
either to my letter or my emails.  This was all caused by the pressure
relief valve being incorrectly installed.  I reported the pressure release
valve problem to the dealer (Apex in Colorado Springs) at the first service
and they did nothing about it.  Apex never responded to the letter I sent
them either, BTW.

Triumph of America, if you are listening, your non-response speaks volumes
about your organization.  As for Apex, I will never spend one dollar there
again.

After my ST developed the big fuel leak and drenched me in petrol, my dealer
recommended I wrote to Triumph to explain the situation. This I did, and a
week later I received a very nice letter appologising for all the
inconvenience.

The letter also invited me to go along to my dealer and choose replacement
trousers and boots from the Triumph range of clothing. Can't say fairer than
that realy :-)
