The main reason of oil usage, is driving like a maniac with a cold engine,
oil needs to be at hot to protect all seals, bearings and moving
parts.
Driving constantly at speeds, has ,noting to do with using oil.
Its possible that an oilscraper on a piston got broken or damaged, than the
engine will use oil.
Second cause is using bad oil, yes this happens often, the ( bad )oil is
making the rubber seals around the valves hard, and so allowing the oil to
be sucked in to the cylinder.
