Just joined up

Hi,

Just joined up to this mail list.

I picked up a 2000 ST in British Racing Green in March of this year; ca 3100
miles to date. I owned a '94 Trophy (BRG - of course) for 6 years/25000
miles before it.

Engine - sweet as a nut
       - Dyno values are 83.3 kW @ 8882 (crank) 69.6 kW (road)
                        103.0 Nm @ 4966 (crank) 87.0 Nm (road)
       - Recent despair, as it's blown a seal/gasket in the right side
cover,
and coated the back tyre with oil.

Transmission - crap.
       - OEM (Regina) chain changed for EK item at 2700 miles due to
irregular wear
(despite Scottoiler). (Strange, my old Trophy had the same problem.
Changed
the Regina for DID at 500 miles.)
       - Gearbox is decidedly more clunky than the Trophy ever was.

Chassis - crap! Just like a bouncy castle, dippin' and a divin' all over the
show.
        - I've booked a bespoke tailoring session with my local guru. He's
in touch
          with the great god Ohlins.
        - BT57 dead at 2600 miles - replaced with same.

Cycle parts - had to have the fuel sender (random number generator) replaced
at 800 miles.

FYI - Riding style largely unchanged (though shedding 30-odd kg and a
shorter wheelbase
mean that I'm airborne more of the time).
    - Fuel consumption - average is the same at about 45 mpg (Imp), though
minimum
has improved from 54 to 58 mpg. Maximum about the same at 40.
    - Low end tractability is so smooth...

Is any of this familiar stuff, or have I just committed heresy?

Regards,

(P.S. I love the bike really - he's called 'Wolfram')
