Carbon Fiber

Sorry for the off topic type of post but I thought someone out there might
be able to answer this question.  Where would a person buy the fiber matting
that is the base for carbon fiber pieces?  My friend does alot of fiberglass
and has been musing over making some of his own stuff.  Looking for small
batches and price ideas.
