on heat ... as it were



Commiserate about your ST overheating around the legs.
Think we had a few threads on this score before and came to the conclusion
that most faired bikes will accumulate heat in that region and short of
riding with naked legs and risk bumping your kneecap and burning the hair
off your thighs and calves, there's little to be done. I still find it hot,
even in moderate weather, let alone in the sickly petrol fume-ridden heat of
the summer in London when you stop at traffic lights and almost expire in
the heat of the exhaust from the car in front together with all the other
bikes alongside you.
Short of major design modification, I don't think we came up with any
solutions except ventilated leathers and a good supply of ice-cubes to pour
into the top of your Alpine Stars (or any other extremities that are
superheating).
