Rear brakes pads

My new rear brake pads are exactly opposite from the old pads. I bought
DP412's and when installing the piston side fit perfect. Then when
installing the right side pad the pads wouldn't fit.
The metal has the two pin holes and a fork on one end that fits around
an alignment boss on the caliper. When the pad fits the brake material
is against the caliper instead of the disc!
I called the shop back and we discussed this while he was looking at
another package and the description was the same? Found out he lived in
The Colony so he bought home another set anyway and a set of official
Triumph pads. At 7:30 last night at his house we both looked in
amazement as it was confirmed that both of the new pads and mine are
exactly opposite! What's the deal?
Another ringer is that the Triumph pads even have the same part number
cast into the steel plate but are opposite. Trying to find a solution.
Anybody else run into this?
