The game boy tag is very applicable.  The tunes are sent in ROM
cartridges. All the dealer has to do to load an "old" tune is pull
out the current cartridge and plug in the old one.

The temp range is only for changeing settings. ie co level etc.

If he's not using a CO analyser he is not setting the CO level correctly.
The CO number in the Game Boy is for reference only.  It even varies
between bikes of the same model.
