RE: Legend (semi-off-topic)

Jim,
Out of our line of bikes my favorite is the Legend and the Sprint. I think
of them as the Sprint being the manual pack mule with all my side bags and
the Legend is the automatic cruiser. You get on the legend and it just
goes. Like turning on the auto-pilot and forget it. It is the easiest of
all our bikes and the most relaxing. comfortable seating (King & Queen
seat), lower seat height, easy reach to the handlebars. This is the one
when you are not in a hurry and just what to take your time, relax and enjoy
the ride. If the brakes are your concern and stopping on a dime, I have
proven the TT600 to be the one for that. Boy does that baby stop when you
want it to with out much effort. I was going down the freeway, as the cars
in front slammed the brakes on, so did I. A bit of smoke off the back tire
(Kevin said, he was behind me in the other lane) slight back tire squiggles
followed by a complete and perfect stop. Kevin may have been stressing
while watching this, but I came out of so excited and thrilled how well the
bike handled and most importantly how well I (a new rider) handled it.

Jim,
I find the bike to be very easy to drive. It is a bit heavier then an ST
(which
still baffles me a bit),
but with the low center of gravity, very maneuverable at low speeds.
Power/Tourque
delivery is excellent, Peak Torque is at 4Krpm. 5 Speed gearbox is just
fine, as
~70 mph is around 4200 and redline is 8. Handles well and I would describe
the
brakes as "adequate". Very basic motorcycle. Fuel tap on left side, no
yellow light
for fuel. Etc. Plenty of performance for it's class! Would recommend the
summer or
roadster screen for wind on the freeway though. We have the summer screen
and it
keeps most of the wind off ya. Having said all that, wait another six
months and
check out bonnie? Although ya can't go wrong with the Legend either.
