RE: Legend (semi-off-topic)

Jim,

My wife has a Legend (in red of course!) and _loves_ it. Very nice bike.
Handles really well, and the engine is plenty torquey enough so you won't
miss the 6th gear. Brakes work well enough, tho don't compare them to the
Sprint's brakes!
Upside: great motor, great looks, decent handling, it's cheap, and it's a
Triumph!
Downside: suspension is completely non-adjustable; centrestand is extra $;
seat is a pain to remove;
The seat is LOW. I'm 5' 9", and find it cramped. My wife is 5' 8" and
likes it cause she can flat foot it easily. Matter of personal preference,
I guess.  YMMV.

Hope this helps.

Mort

Darla and Kevin,

        I'd be really interested to hear your impressions of the Legend. My
wife rides, too - a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 that she really likes. It's too
small
for me, though. Powerful enough for freeway use, just too small for me
(she's
5'2", I'm 5'11"). I've been kicking around the idea of getting a Legend to
have
a more relaxed ride for me and a bit sportier ride for her, too. My concerns
would be the braking power of the single front disc and how well 5 gears
works
as opposed to the six fitted on the Thunderbirds (and everything else, I
think). I like the green, too, as well as the red, but this time I think
she'll
win and we'll get the red.

TIA,
