Pipes

OK, OK, I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I failed to find the kind
of details I wanted during a search of past posts to the list.

Lisa and I are on the verge of buying a pipe for each bike and would
like to hear from those with experience. There has been a lot of detail
on the Triumph pipe, so I am looking to hear from those with other
aftermarket pipes. The Triumph pipe may get the nod though since it
seems to be of very high quality.

I hear Staintune is good choice for its all stainless construction. D&D
seems to be pretty good for its power increase. And Two Brothers looks
pretty good with a suitable power increase as well. The latter two seem
to have "glass pack" construction. Is this an issue worth considering?
Our criteria is a reasonable power increase without degrading the
usability. Also would like a little more engine noise, but at speed for
cross country runs, we don't want it to be too invasive. Saving weight
is not too big of an issue since we ride with the bags on most of the
time.

Since there has been a significant amount of bandwidth on this, feel
free to e-mail me off list if you have the time to share your thoughts.
We have no experience with the results of changing pipes except what we
hear and see other bikes, i.e. we have no seat time before and after a
pipe change.

For those who selected the Triumph pipe, i would be interested in why
you chose that pipe vs. other aftermarket pipes. Quality, sound,
triumph badge, etc...

Thanks,

..Richard White
