RE: Fork stress???



Is it not the pinch bolts causing the stress on the fork tube.  I
thought it was a crappy job on the clear coat. But now you mention it I
bet it is from tightening down the pinch bolts.

My fork lowers show the same "stress cracking" of the paint.  One theory
could be that the fastener preload changes with change in ambient
temperature due to the fork lowers being aluminum and the bolts being
steel (different temperature expansion rates).  Aren't these the same
forks used on the Honda VFR?   Has anyone else seen this phenomenom on a
VFR?
