Re: Fork stress???

I just looked at both of our bikes and they both have the same
indications. I actually recall seeing this a number of months ago and
attributed it to the fact you get high stresses in the fork at this
location since it is a pinch clamp. Stress is a function of strain,
which is actual movement of the material. Combined with the fact that
the paint is likely brittle and definitely has a certain adhesion
strength that can be exceeded, I did not think twice about it.

BUT, now that others are concerned, I am really curious to see what
Triumph's response is going to be. FWIW, I am not too worried about it
and am curious to know whether anyone has looked at the forks on other
bikes to see if there are any of the same indications? I expect to see
that it is common, perhaps even typical, but reserve final judgment.

My $0.02 and I hope that I am right, not for sake of pride, but for sake
of life and limb.
