The system must go through 3 or more cycles depending on the error. The
dealer that mentioned three times on and off quickly was not correct, at
least if you use the service manual as a guide. The bike must start cold
and come up to temp before it is logged a cycle (a min difference of 20 deg
C if I remember correctly) - just flipping the key 3 times shouldn't have
any effect.
