Yup, why didn't I think of that?

The alarm then "clucks" every 30 seconds and drives you and the neighbours
bananas.  This is what I had to do to recharge the battery - so I tried to
charge the battery as quickly as possible, to avoid upsetting the
neighbours, so the battery wasn't charged enough, so the bike didn't start
first time, etc etc
