Yeah, I have mine set at 50% elbows, and I can see the lane behind me.
And I am very wide across the shoulders.

I mounted two small convex mirrors on the inner (useless) half of the
mirrors, one above the other.  I have them with the thick part toward
the inside, to give me a view into my blind spot on either side.  This
is great, and it is now impossible to hide in the lane on either side
of me, even for another bike.
