I bought a Shoei RF-800 after a friend let me borrow his.  Very quiet and
light and comfy.  I see that you tried on one.   Check the size.  I thought
I'd take a medium.  Way too small.  Had to go with a large.  (I'm short)

Listening to CD's instead of traffic?  Donno about that...

PS  Of course any thing is better than my Bieffe Dual Sport I use on my DR.
Might as well use an open face helmet.
