I too have a lot of travel in my lever and just yesterday I had the bike serviced and the brakes bled.  It is a bit better but much more travel than on any other bike I've owned.  The brakes are magnificent though but I seriously wondered from time to time whether the lever might pull to the hand grip one day!   (which would be at the worst possible moment of course!)
