Absolutely not.

Unless you are talking about three Daytona 200 race wins (1962 Dick Burnett;
1966 Buddy Elmore; 1967 Gary Nixon.) Triumphs contested AMA Nationals
piloted by guys like Dick Mann, Gary Scott, Eddie Mulder, Don Castro, Dusty
Coppage, Sammy Tanner, Gene Romero, Dick Hammer, oh -- nevermind -- nobody
alive now knows anything about those guys anyway...
Triumph Motorcycles were raced and won AMA Expert-Class National Mile,
Half-Mile, Hill-Climb, Enduro, Hare-Scrambles and other events in their
heyday between 1950 - 1975 in this country.
Steve McQueen raced Triumph motorcycles for many years as a "hobby". Likely
could have been a National level racer if he wasn't busy making movie
pictures. (Steve Who?)
Triumph Motorcycles still hold at least three World Land Speed Records.
A Triumph T595 Daytona built by Mickey Cohen in Santa Ana Ca. won the AMA Pro
Thunder Series Championship in 1998 including the round held at Daytona
International Speedway. The crowd went nuts.
A Triumph TT600 built by Jack Lilley recently won its first British
Supersport Class event.
On the other hand, if you want to ride the most raced motorcycle in the USA
RIGHT NOW...
... buy a Suzuiki GSX-R. I have owned three of them and they are wonderful
machines. They just don't make really good sport-touring bikes unless you
are in your 20's and in really good shape -- which unfortunately no longer
applies to me!
