I don't have a Scottoiler or any other fancy automatic gear on the chain,
but I do try and keep it well lubed.
Have to agree, though, that a good caking of grime, oil, grease and traffic
film is a great protectant against salt and other corrosives.
The moral? Don't bother freezing your ass off cleaning your bike in winter.
