Paul,
I have 12K miles on my RT and although shifting does loosen up with
miles, the "1st shift of the day" in cold weather can be as tough as if the
tranny is locked. It has to roll a ways, but then shifts fine after that.
This doesn't happen every time, but often enough. Strangely, the tranny
snicks nicely in cooler weather. Actually better than when it is hot. This
may not be as noticeable on the RS without the bodywork to contain heat in
slower traffic. Also, as the scheduled oil change approaches, it doesn't
shift quite as smoothly. If it wasn't such an expense ($50 U.S. w/filter)
and pain in the ass (to get oil), I would move the changes up 1K miles. If I
find a better source, I may do that.
Ciao,
Bob
