Lex,
   The cap they use has to charge thus inducing a delay in timing that 
translates to a later fire and in worst case sinario lost power.  It is 
still the same number of electrons that are being used to ignite your fuel.  
It is a fallacy to believe that a more intense spark regardless of duration 
is going to increase performance.  The wires look cool so that may be a 
reason to use them but on the bike we can't enjoy that effect either.
