Re: crash report

Well, unfortunately Barb and I took the crash pill Sunday returning from the
SongDog blissfully happy weekend. We joined up there with Wayne Connell and
Karen and Chris Furgeson. Coming home from Ojai we stopped at the RS to butt
break. Then proceeded to slog our way through Sunday traffic home via 1 and
Lincoln Blvd. Near Jefferson the traffic had come to an abrupt halt, in
front of me stopped was a nice green Lexus 400. I was riding the Sprint ST
and Barb was riding my Virago because her Nitehawk was still in the shop for
a carb rejet and new chain. Well anyway we were coming over the crest of a
small hill after going under the bridge. To make a long story short I
managed to stop and Barb didn't and ran into me on the Sprint on my right
flank pushing both bikes into the Lexus. She says she just brain faded for a
moment and it was too late. We're both alive and recouping. Barb got the
worst of it with lacerated right calf down to the bone. She's going to a
specialist tomorrow who will check the repair made at the Emergency room at
Daniel Freeman. This is to examine the muscle tear on the right side of her
calf. Me? barely a scratch other than the normal aches and pains. The bikes
however are a whole nuther story and are near write-off. The Virago hit the
Sprint so hard one disc rotor turned 90 degrees and pryed away from the
wheel. The Sprint lost all right side bodywork, the Virago disc blew the
Sprints rear tire and bent the underseat detachable lattice framework but
they both appear fixable. Not sure what I'll do here but since I don't carry
comprehensive I'll be fixing them or tossing them on my own. Fortunately I
have liability to cover the Lexus and the guy wasn't screaming whiplash or
whatever and the cops got the story straight from both of us I think. Anyway
the good thing is we're both Ok and will live to ride again. I'm naturally
sick about the whole mess but we'll struggle through it together and come out
the other side. Uhh, we won't be making it to Santa Maria SabMag event this
coming weekend.

Ride Safe out there ya hear!
