Help: Boot Recommendation

I have been wearing the Sidi Rain boot (which comes out of the same mould as
the vertebra) they are claimed to be and have been been since February
totally waterproof, very comfortable for walking and look quite sporty
(despite it's grey colour). They do not have the vertebra bits attached to
them nor a slider, but it does have a kevlar patch instead of the slider and
uses different types of plastic to provide the shin, heel, ankle and
toe/gearchange protection and flexible panels where the vertebra bits would
be. They are the most comfortable footwear I own and for my usage are 100
per cent practical. My jeans or waterproofs can be worn either inside or
outside of the boots as there is stacks of adjustment from the zip / velcro
mechanism. I believe the uppers are made of leather but I may be wrong,
with a Te-por thin membrane which is both waterproof and breathable (so far
after lots of hot sticky rides, no nasty niffs). Despite a lot of walking,
they do not show any sign of wear on the soles. To me it is a sports boot
for all seasons, I believe there are now two models and cost is circa 100
pds stg. The other thing I noticed when trying on several boots in the
shop, is that quite a lot of boots rub your leg at the top of the boot when
moving about, , these were the first boot I found that did not. Definately
worth a look.

Hi Kathy

I have been looking at getting a pair of the Sidi Vertebra boots. Have you
had any
experience wearing the boots in wet and or cold conditions. The boots look
great,
have an outstanding reputation for protection, but dont really address water
resistance/proofness as they seem to be intended more for the racing crowd.

TIA

Mark
