RE: oil and gas

Is the non Triumph branded Mobil 1 15-50 that is available at the local Pep
Boys store the same oil or is there some kind of additive in the Triumph
oil. Price of the "regular" Mobil 1 was about $5/quart.

Motul 5100 is a semi synthetic. I use 15-50 because that is the same
weight as the Triumph branded Mobil one, which is the same as
European Mobil One Racing 4T which one can't get in the US.
Interesting thing is that in my owners manual Triumph calls for a
15-40 wt which no one makes! As for the weight issue a 5-50 wt is a
no no it's too thin. Which is a shame because I like the Motorex
products but they don't yet have a 15-50 wt.

Erik

PS: And yes I wouldn't spend $12.00 a quart for 300V and change every
2000 miles .. that's why I use 5100. It costs me about $29.00 per oil
change with filter.

PPS: Here's a link to the UK Mobil 1 site it clearly states that 4T
is 15-50 wt Interesting that the Triumph branded Mobil 1 does not
list the viscosity on the jug, and the owners manual lists and
incorrect viscosity!
