Re: Airborne

Lance,
Take it to a shop and pay them for an estimate. Get them to cut a check
to you for the repairs minus your deductible and all should be good.
Depending on the adjuster and the insurance company they will pay you
direct or they will make the check payable to both you and the dealer.
DO NOT PERFORM ANY DISASSEMBLY OR REMOVAL YOURSELF. WAIT UNTIL THE
ADJUSTER SEES THE BIKE AND LET THE ADJUSTER FIGHT WITH THE DEALER FOR THE
PRICE OF THE REPAIR. DO NOT ENGAGE THEM DIRECTLY FOR NEGOCIATING A REPAIR
COSTS AS THEY ARE SPECIALIST IN RIPPING PEOPLE OFF IN SITUATIONS LIKE THIS.
They will fight you much harder than a dealer over repair costs and you
will end up eating more that your deductible to repair the bike.
This is all relative to the insurance company of course. It is better to
error on the side of caution then to get screwed.
