re: GPS Question



I used to have the Delorme Earthmate connected to my laptop.  Worked O.K. on 
my laptop in combination with Delorme Street Atlas software (obviously, 
while don't try this on your bike, I'd used it for finding my way in the 
City while in my car), although signal was not always very strong.

I also purchased the full rig for the Palm with the intent to use the 
Earthmate receiver on my bike.  Didn't work very well at all for a varity of 
reasons, including difficulty reading the Palm screen in the sun light.  
Software kind of sucked too, unless all you were looking for was long/lat 
level info.

Eventually broke down and bought a Garmin III Plus with Mapsource software 
(about $400 total).  Excellent solution......
