Hi Johnny,

Are the upgrade bulbs physically smaller?  If so, I'm not sure why this
guarantees that they run hotter.  Also, if this is true and it affects the
longevity of the bulb, then I think the manufacturer has a problem that
would affect any application using these bulbs, not just when used as
upgrade replacements.

The upgrade bulbs pull more current for sure, but there is a fuse that
protects the circuit.  If that's not blowing, then there should be no risk
of damage to the wiring.  Higher wattage bulbs give off more heat, true
enough, but I haven't heard complaints of nearby parts melting either.  Mark
seemed concerned that it was the same bulb that has failed twice.  Are you
suggesting that this is just coincidence?
