Thanks, everyone for the info. I have 800 miles on my 01 ST and found =
the foot pegs today in a Motorcycle Safety Foundation ERC! They're =
easier to hit than the ones on my last bike. Anyway, (for the rider =
waiting for the BRG panniers), my bike is British Racing Green (BRG) and =
the hard bags just arrived. So they're at least finally available.

I have the start-up whine, too. It must be normal and I figured, with a =
2-year warranty, I'd wait it out and see if it changes or is just a =
Triumph thing. Interesting, though, that the Swedish rider got rid of =
it with a change of parts.

Yes, the BMW adapter fits the Triumph socket.

I appreciate the advice on smoothing out the transmission. I'm pleased =
to hear that it may not have to go clunk-thud forever, and I'll start =
stretching my shifts farther up the tach after the 1000 mile mark.

I've got some long distance riding (1000 mile days) coming up soon and =
I'd like to hear how the risers worked, comfort wise, for any of you who =
may have installed them. Also, I have the taller windshield installed =
and haven't tried the stock windshield. I hear that the shorter, stock =
windshield is quieter but doesn't cut as much wind from the torso =
area--any comments on which you prefer for the long-distance riding?

Thanks, all, for your comments or suggestions. (I love the bike!)
