Subject: Triumph screws up bigtime

Thought this might be of interest to the group. Lyle Lovett (yes the
singer with the funny hair) just opened a motorcycle dealership in
Houston. I was told that it was a Triumph dealership along with BMW,
Aprilia, Cagiva and Yamaha. I stopped in today just to check it out,
thinking this high profile dealer would be a boost to our favorite
brand. Wow! What a thorougly modern, obviously well financed
operation, a rival to the glossiest Harley boutique. I inquired
about Triumphs from the salesmen and got a really frosty response.

Seems they were a Triumph franchise for exactly 2 days. The salesman
claimed they got "stuffed", that is loaded up with accessories they
didn't want, and at the same time couldn't get parts they needed to
make-ready new bikes for sale, which were in awful shape as delivered
from the factory. They quit and shipped 30 bikes back to TOA. He
believes that Triumph will be out of business in two years if they
treat dealers like this. It sent a shiver through me thinking of
1974
and the great dealer rebellions. Anybody else heard of this fiasco?

IS ANYBODY FROM TOA OUT THERE????

This really pisses me off! If I were boss heads'd roll on this deal!
Does anyone have an address for Tri in England? They should be
informed and not have this swept under the rug by some jerk off back
at TOA.........Why doesn`t TOA have a rep with a new dealer??
Especially a potential dealer of this size........There is absolutely
no excuse for losing a potential dealer of any kind, and especially
one that will be one of the best known and most talked about dealers
in the country.........(Bet you see his dealership mentioned in every
rag in the next couple of months.) I`m really pissed!!!!
Really,... someone should be fired......Then a rep should be sent to
kiss that dealers ass and do whatever needs to be done till it`s all
better........
On a related note I`m at Vansons factory this week and what do
I see but a notice informing all salesman that all Vanson leathers
sent to LYLE LOVETT MOTORSPORTS be fully equipped with body armor
standard, as Lyle wants to sell his suits and jackets complete.....
I mean this guy is top notch.......And TOA blew it.
