Getting at the Speedometer

Hi,
I asked a while back how to get at the back of the speedometer. Notice I
don't write "speedo" this time. Well, it is easier than I thought. It goes
like this:

1. Remove the right and left body panels (leave the belly pan). Don't forget
to remove the 2 top screws on the black bezel around the radiator opening.
2. Unplug the turn signals
3. Remove the mirrors
4. Remove the lower windshield (black plastic) screws
5. Pull nose fairing straight out until it comes loose, then maneuver it
free.
7. Unplug the running light (2 connectors).
8. Ta da!

This is also the way to replace headlights, running lamps and I suppose,
anything in the instrument panel. The cable "stub" from the speedometer and
just about every other cable is secured by a cable tie, so you have to
remove the nose fairing to get at anything inside.
.Bugs and stuff get in there (past the headlights), so I washed the
inside of the fairing while I had it off.
