Tyres, Ride Height, Chain Adjuster

I've had my '99 red ST for 7 weeks and she's a beauty.
I've just fitted Avon Azaro II tyres - I'll let you know how they perform.
I'm short and can only just touch ground with both feet and since fitting
new tyres it's even more of a stretch.
I've seen the debate about the chain adjuster and how it can reduce ride
height - are there any problems before I try it?
